DoveStar Policies

Admission Policy

An interview is required to establish potential cost, previous credit allowances, and desired topics of study from elective offerings. An individual program is then formulated. Anyone is welcome to attend for personal growth. All are welcome regardless of age, color, religion, or handicap. Each individual is unique and equal opportunity is offered to develop optimum potential to be the best that anyone can be. To begin classes, a second interview is required. All student policies are explained, enrollment fee is paid and schedule will be established.

Processing Student Complaints Policy

The procedure for anyone having a complaint regarding the school, an instructor, or staff member is:
1. Attempt to resolve it by communicating with the person involved.

2. Make an appointment for a meeting with a staff member of your choice to discuss the issue.

3. If issue is not resolved, complaint will be referred to the school Director.

4. If issue is still not resolved you may request a hearing with the Advisory Board.

5. If still not resolved, complaint can be referred to the appropriate state agency listed in the catalog.

Registration & Completion Policy

Minimum requirement for classes is 4–8 depending on the class. Maximum depends on the size of the classroom. Maximum student to instructor ratio is 20:1. Completion of all programs require 100% attendance, 75% on tests, exams, and seminars, payment of all fees in full, and a written report of your experiences as a DoveStar student. Upon completion a certificate is presented. Seminars are graded with a pass/fail. Requirements for receiving a passing grade on seminars are:
1. Full attendance at class. Special conditions for late arrival or leaving early must be approved by the instructor.

2. Enthusiastic attention during class.

3. Respectful behavior.

4. Participation in all aspects of the subject matter.

5. Comprehension of and demonstration of an ability to integrate the material. Progress is recorded and is evaluated and discussed at the completion of each 25% period of training.

Suspension Policy

The DoveStar philosophy involves responsibility for oneself. DoveStar promotes the development of individual creativity. Anyone demonstrating a lack of respect for the rights of another student, client, faculty or staff member will be considered in violation of this philosophy and will be suspended from the program. Anywhere a license to practice exists it is unacceptable to receive any form of payment. Any student discovered accepting tips, advertising their services or working on clients for financial compensation in any form outside of school, other than at approved off-site locations, may be suspended from the program. Reinstatement will be at the discretion of the DoveStar Board of Directors. To be reinstated after a minimum of 2 months probation, student must submit in writing, to the board, their justification for being accepted. A meeting with the board may be required to discuss the issues.

Refund Policy

DoveStar collects tuition on a pay as you attend procedure. A non-refundable deposit is required when registering for a class. If any student, including student using VA benefits, pays in advance for the training and does not attend, withdraws, or is discontinued from the training committed to, the unused portion is refunded in full minus the non-refundable deposit.
